Transportation Services Reminders: No Bus Service July Fourth; Is Your UK E Parking Permit Updated?

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 2, 2018) — University of Kentucky employees who park on campus should make sure they are using their updated parking permits. UK Transportation Services reminds employees that most 2017-18 E parking permits expired Saturday, June 30.

Employees who ordered their 2018-2019 permit after Wednesday, June 20, must pick up their permit at the Transportation Services office in the Press Avenue Garage (721 Press Avenue) at the window labeled “Express Pick Up” without the need to stand in the general customer service line. Transportation Services is offering extended office hours for permit pick-up from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 2, through Friday, July 6. The office will be closed July 4 in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.

If you have applied for but not yet received your new permit and do not fall into the timeframe outlined above, please contact Transportation Services at 859-257-5757 or UKParking@lsv.uky.edu. You may stop by the Transportation Services office in the Press Avenue Garage, located at the corner of Press and Virginia Avenues, to pick up a temporary permit.

Another reminder: In observance of the Fourth of July holiday, Transportation Services will not operate bus service on Wednesday, July 4. This includes the Blue and White Routes (Lextran 14) and the Green Route Connector (Lextran 26), as well as the Orange Route (UK HealthCare Route) and the Pink Route (Kentucky Clinic Route).

All bus service will return to normal operations Thursday, July 5.

All campus routes—as well as the Red Mile (Lextran 15) service frequently used by the campus community—are viewable real-time on TransLoc Rider, UK’s GPS-based bus locating system. TransLoc Rider can be accessed at uky.transloc.com and via the free Transloc Rider Android and iPhone apps.
