Banner Behavior

Wildcat Community,

It is, without question, a special time to be a member of the UK community. So many wonderful things are happening on our campus. And, of course, we are in the midst of watching one of the most special seasons in the history of college basketball.

I want us all to enjoy the history that we are privileged to be part of as members of the Big Blue Nation.

At the same time, just as our players are focused on the game in front of them, I would ask you, as representatives of this university, be focused on our priorities as well.

First, we ask that you continue to place a focus and emphasis on your studies by attending class and engaging fully in the intellectual life of this campus. It’s a critical part of the semester, after all. Many courses are about to have mid-terms and we are approaching final projects and papers. Your attendance and your focus on your studies are critically important.

Second, I want you to celebrate and enjoy the success of our team and our athletics program. That experience is part of what makes life on a university campus so special and so unique. You are making memories that will, literally, last a lifetime. But let’s make the right kind of memories together. Celebrate responsibly. Celebrate safely. Look out for each other and hold each other accountable as members of this special community.

We are responsible for each other. We are all responsible for demonstrating what we call #BannerBehavior.

Let’s remember these priorities over the next few days even as we, together, celebrate our team and our university.

Thank you.
