Be a Star at Karaoke Night

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 25, 2012) — Spare your roommates the shower singing! Belt it out at Karaoke Night instead, 8-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, in the Cats Den. This event is free and sponsored by the Student Activities Board.

Karaoke is interactive entertainment that allows students the chance to sing along to their favorite recorded music. And don’t worry about forgetting the words, because the lyrics to the songs are displayed on screen. There are more than 100 songs for students to choose to sing along to in almost every musical genre.

Drinks and refreshments will be provided during the night by UK Catering.

“My favorite part about Karaoke Night is watching people get up on stage, let loose and have a great time,” said Derek Operle, director of SAB Pop Culture Committee. “Karaoke Night has been a really popular event this year and I’m really excited for the first one of the semester.”

The Student Activities Board brings more than 100 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually.  These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
