Big Trucks Park at Keeneland for Touch-A-Truck Event Supporting Child Development Center

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 26, 2015) — Children can climb into the driver's seat of their favorite big truck Aug. 30 during the Touch-A-Truck event, which raises funds for the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass (CDCB) based at the University of Kentucky.

The family event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. behind the Keene Barn at Keeneland. All proceeds support programs and therapy services for the CDCB which helps children with and without special needs achieve their maximum potential.

During the event, children will be allowed to safely climb on, climb in, see, touch and explore their favorite big trucks and meet the personnel who protect, serve and build the Lexington community. Vehicles on display include construction trucks, emergency responders, tractor trailers, utility trucks and a helicopter. The event also features a vendor fair, area mascots, face painting and a silent auction.

“Touch-A-Truck is an amazing family event for CDCB and we are thrilled to see it raise funds for such an important cause – children with special needs in our community,” said Erica Tipton, executive director for the center.  “We always have a wonderful and unique variety of vehicles, and this year will be no exception.”

The 2015 Touch A Truck event is made possible by support from local businesses including UK HealthCare, LBX Company, Hilliard Lyons, Toyota on Nicholasville, PNC Bank, UPS, S&S Tire, Lexmark and Keeneland.

Admission to the event is $20 per vehicle of up to seven occupants. Call 859-218-2322 for more information and large group pricing.
