Capilouto and Jackson Discuss Stereotype Threat

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 9, 2014) — December’s Lunch and Learn dialogue at the University of Kentucky Martin Luther King Center will be about “stereotype threat.”

The discussion will be led by UK President Eli Capilouto and UK Vice President for Institutional Diversity Judy "JJ" Jackson from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the King Center in the Student Center. Attendance is free.

Developed by internationally known social psychologist Claude M. Steele, stereotype threat is defined as the threat of being seen through the lens of a negative stereotype.
