Career Center Brings Virtual Career Fair to UK Students, Alumni

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 1, 2014) — Beginning today (April 1), UK students and alumni will have the opportunity to participate in the SEC and ACC Universities Virtual Career Fair held online through April 3. The University of Kentucky is one of 27 SEC and ACC schools participating in the virtual career fair.

Participating employers are offering full-time and part-time jobs, co-op and internship opportunities, and represent such varied fields as accounting, business, engineering, human resources, marketing, technology, sales, science and more. As of March 24, 70 employers, including AT&T, FedEx, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and State Farm, are registered to participate in the career fair.

Interested students and alumni must upload a résumé to the career fair website to participate in the fair. Employers can review the online résumés and chat with prospects through instant messaging or a webcam session.

Gayle Oliver-Plath, CEO and founder of CareerEco, says the online fair is "a unique opportunity to potentially get hired by one of 60+ forward-thinking and resourceful employers who are leveraging the power of technology for the benefit of all."
