LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 8, 2015) — The Club at the University of Kentucky's Spindletop Hall is hosting a special event in connection with the Breeders' Cup Festival in late October in Lexington.  Breeders' Cup Festival Celebrity Guest Chefs Night will be held Friday, Oct. 30, at The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall on Ironworks Pike. The event is open to members and non-members of Spindletop Hall.

“The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall is honored to have been chosen as the venue for a Celebrity Guest Chefs Night during the Breeders’ Cup Festival," said Gerald Marvel, general manager of The Club.  "This promises to be an exciting event and wonderful opportunity to meet three of the top chefs in the country.”

The guest chefs are Matt Lambert, executive chef and co-owner of The Musket Room in New York City; Aarón Sánchez, chef and partner in the Johnny Sánchez restaurant in Baltimore and New Orleans; and Janine Booth, chef de cuisine at Root & Bone in New York City.

Each chef will create one course of a magnificent meal served in seatings at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $100 each for Spindletop members and $125 each for non-members, plus tax.  Members and non-members of The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall can make reservations online at www.spindletophall.org or by calling 859-255-2777, Tuesday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

When the final menu is developed it will be posted on the Spindletop website: visit  www.spindletophall.org and click on the Breeders' Cup Festival icon.

Chef Lambert will design the first course.  He is known for melding his New Zealand heritage with a modern, innovative culinary technique at The Musket Room, which received the highly coveted Michelin Star designation four months after opening in May 2013.  Lambert's dishes draw inspiration from his Kiwi roots, experience working in New York City's best kitchens and a passion for locally sourced produce.

The second course will be offered by Chef Sánchez who is the co-star of the Food Network's hit series "Chopped," and host of the Cooking Channel's Emmy-nominated show "Taco Trip." Sánchez is also the author of two books — "Simple Food, Big Flavor: Unforgettable Mexican-Inspired Recipes from My Kitchen to Yours" and "La Comida del Barrio."

Topping off the meal with the third course is Chef Booth who appeared on NBC/Bravo's Emmy award-winning show "Top Chef" where she competed against 18 other chefs in New Orleans.  Booth, who was born and raised in Australia, also was a contender on Bravo's "Last Chance Kitchen," beating out four competitors.
