College of Arts and Sciences' Podcast Features James Cobb

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 6, 2012) The College of Arts and Sciences produces podcasts that demonstrate work being done by the faculty and students in the college. Each week, UKNow will highlight a podcast. This week focuses on James Cobb.

Cobb is the director of the Kentucky Geological Survey, which works closely with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at UK.

In this podcast, Cobb describes the types of work geologists do across Kentucky, which includes mapping geologic hazards and mineral and water resources. Cobb also discusses some of the geologic formations that make the region unique, such as the New Madrid Fault.
