College of Law Donates Kids' Books to Baby Health Service

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 9, 2012) — The University of Kentucky College of Law recently donated more than 60 books to Baby Health Service of Lexington.

The children’s and young adult books, donated by UK Law faculty and staff, were collected at a holiday party hosted by UK Law Dean David A. Brennen and his wife, Kimberly. The books will be given to young patients of Baby Health Service to take home after their visits.

Baby Health Service, which began as Mother’s Milk Supply in 1914, offers office visits for sick children, as well as routine checkups, lab tests, x-rays and referrals for specialized treatments.  Services are available for Lexington area children, from birth to age 17, whose families do not have health insurance. All services are free for all children.

“Baby Health is privileged to be the recipient of such a generous gift,” said Baby Health President Kathleen Eastland. “We are so grateful to Dean and Mrs. Brennen for selecting Baby Health. The books donated by the law school are a perfect fit for the clinic's recently increased patient age group and extended hours. We thank them for including the children of our community in their holiday giving.”
