Crunch Brunch Brings Fun, Relaxation to Finals Week

of

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 16, 2013) — It’s that time of year: Final exams have arrived, and so have end-of-the semester stresses. Relax before finals week with the Student Activities Board’s fifth annual Crunch Brunch. The event will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight tonight, Monday, Dec. 16, in Memorial Coliseum.

Students will be able to relieve stress in a variety of ways at Crunch Brunch. Free, hot breakfast will be served by UK faculty and staff and free 5-minute massages will be offered by the Lexington Healing Arts Academy. Students will also be able to consult academic advisors and academic enhancement programs, including The Study, at the event. A basketball shoot-out and inflatables including an obstacle course, sumo wrestling and jousting will also be offered. Finally, students will be able to pick up a Crunch Brunch long-sleeve T-shirt, while supplies last.

“Crunch Brunch has become a finals week tradition for many students and we’re improving it every year,” said Connor Giesselman, SAB director of campus life. “We look forward to finishing out the fall semester by offering the best Crunch Brunch yet to the UK community.”

A shuttle bus service will be offered to students on campus and will run every 15 minutes from 8:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Stops include the intersection of Columbia Avenue and Rose Street, “The 90” at Hilltop and Woodland Avenues and the intersection of Hugueulet Drive and Rose Street.

SAB brings more than 100 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Lexington community.
