DanceBlue Needs You!
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 18, 2013) — UK students are preparing for the eighth annual DanceBlue dance marathon just a few days away and even if you are not dancing or volunteering, you can still support the kids. DanceBlue 2013 kicks off at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, and runs for 24 hours, until 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb., 23, at Memorial Coliseum. Thousands of students are involved in the marathon, either dancing or volunteering, but if you’re not, here are some ways to be involved and support DanceBlue:
Attend
Memorial Coliseum will be open to the public for the duration of DanceBlue and everyone is encouraged to attend. At the top of every hour, the famous DanceBlue line dance is done by all 800 dancers. Also, there will be giveaways for spectators each hour from some great Lexington businesses.
Watch
Watch the marathon’s live-stream. The marathon will be broadcast live at www.danceblue.org. You are especially encouraged to watch the opening of the marathon, from 8-10 p.m. Friday, and the end of the marathon, including the family hours and the final fundraising reveal from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
