Exhibits Needed for Staff Appreciation Day 2011

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 24, 2011) — University of Kentucky departments, offices and vendors are invited to exhibit at the annual Staff Appreciation Day to be held Thursday, May 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Frank Harris Ballroom in the Student Center. Staff Appreciation Day is UK’s way of thanking staff for their valuable work and dedication. Attendance has averaged from 5,000 to 8,000 in the past and includes staff from all over campus.

Staff Appreciation Day is the ideal venue for groups to inform staff about their products services or programs. At the end of the event, a prize is awarded for the best exhibit.

Free offerings for the day for all staff will include food, a UK T-shirt giveaway, live music,
UK Athletics videos, door prize pick-up, a slide show of past events, demonstrations of staff members’ interests outside of UK, and voting for Staff Senate elections.

Reservations are being taken now from those interested in exhibiting by contacting Alice Ledford, exhibit chair, at amledf0@email.uky.edu

Staff Appreciation Day is organized by members of the Staff Appreciation Day Commission who represent many departments of the campus community. The event is sponsored by the offices of President Lee T. Todd and Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Frank Butler and the Staff Senate.
