Faculty, Staff and Alumni Offered Discount to WUKY Events
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 17, 2012) ― WUKY is offering reduced-price tickets to University of Kentucky faculty, staff and alumni for its fundraiser My, Oh Mayan! It's Heard It Through the Grapevine 2012 ― The Last Hurrah. The annual winetasting and musical entertainment event is Friday, Jan. 27, at the Hilton Lexington Downtown Hotel. Reduced-price tickets also are available to faculty, staff and alumni for the special Winemaker Dinner on Thursday, Jan. 26, at UK's Boone Center.
The reduced price for tickets to the dinner is $91 per person (normally $125) and general admission tickets to the Heard It Through the Grapevine event are $65 per person (normally $85). VIP tickets to Grapevine are not reduced, and those tickets are $120 each.
Alumni, staff or faculty members who want to purchase tickets at the reduced price must call WUKY at (859) 257-3221 to order and mention this offer.
My, Oh Mayan! It's Heard It Through the Grapevine 2012 ― The Last Hurrah begins at 7 p.m. Jan. 27, and features entertainment by performers of the Imperial Court of Kentucky, The Dominoes and Velvet Elvis. The Winemaker Dinner, at 7 p.m. Jan. 26, will feature Chef Steve Geddes of the acclaimed Local 127 restaurant in Cincinnati. He will create an elegant multiple course meal, and each course will be prepared, plated, and discussed by Chef Geddes on several large video screens in the dining hall. The dinner also includes a live auction.
