Gatton's McDaniel to Edit Highly Regarded Journal
McDaniel came to the Gatton College and its Von Allmen School of Accountancy in 2002 after 10 years on the faculty of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Her research has been widely published and she is a winner of the Outstanding Manuscript Award from the American Accounting Association's Accounting, Behavior and Organizations Section for her co-authoring of a paper on fair value accounting.
Often called upon as an expert witness in audit fraud cases, McDaniel has long provided service to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and previously served as an auditor at legacy Pricewaterhouse.
In announcing McDaniel's appointment for a three-year (2014-17) term as senior editor and lead author for a special forum in the journal on Financial Accounting and Assurance Services, Jeffrey Cohen, incoming senior editor of Auditing and Ernst & Young Research Fellow in Boston College's Carroll School of Management said, "The University of Kentucky is quite fortunate to have a faculty member as talented as Linda who has such a wonderful international reputation."
