Guest Artist to Demonstrate the Power of Marimba
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 10, 2013) — Musician Andy Harnsberger will present a free public concert featuring the marimba at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts Concert Hall.
Harnsberger, whose performances are described as "a vivid demonstration of the power of music" by the Washington Post, enjoys a versatile career as a performer and an educator at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. He has performed in a variety of settings across the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan, and presents numerous solo recitals and clinics throughout the country each year. He has been a featured solo artist at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, Spoleto Festival USA and Piccolo Spoleto Festival.
A guest clinician at many Percussive Arts Society Days of Percussion, Harnsberger's compact disc, “Vertigo,” has also drawn acclaim from the Percussive Arts Society.
