Help WUKY During its Pet Challenge Drive June 2-6
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 21, 2014) - The University of Kentucky's and Lexington’s National Public Radio (NPR) station, WUKY, will connect with listeners across Central Kentucky for its 2014 Summer Pledge Drive dedicated to the love of pets, Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 6.
WUKY is seeking groups, organizations, and individuals who are willing to volunteer to help answer calls and take pledges from the station's listeners. Anyone interested is encouraged to contact your friends and have them join you during this worthwhile event.
Computers are now available for all volunteers to take pledges, entering them in automatically, while making the transaction seamless and much more cost effective for the donor and station.
If your organization/group is able to provide multiple volunteers for a day or multiple shifts, WUKY will designate that specific day/shifts to your group. The station will announce on air that the phones are being answered by volunteers from “ABC Group/Org.” during the designated times for your volunteers. In addition, WUKY will air 10 free public service announcements (PSA's) for your organization or company.
WUKY is located on the 3rd floor rock ‘n’ roll penthouse of McVey Hall, which is in the heart of UK’s campus.
WUKY is listener supported, with a loyal audience, but needs your help to collect dollars and make it all work.

Monday, June 2: 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., 8–9 p.m.
Tuesday, June 3: 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., 8–9 p.m.
Wednesday, June 4:6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., 8–9 p.m.
Thursday, June 5: 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., 8–9 p.m.
Friday, June 6: 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
