Holi, India's Festival of Spring, Slated Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 13, 2016) — University of Kentucky Student Activity Board’s Multicultural Affairs Committee and the Indian Student Association have organized an event celebrating Holi 2016: The Indian Festival of Colors.

UK's Holi 2016 is set for 3 to 5 p.m. April 15 on Administration Lawn in front of the Main Building.

The university celebrates the holiday in honor of the arrival of spring, signified with the festive throwing of dye in the air by many in the community. UK's Holi will showcase Indian culture through food, dance, music and traditional garb.

During the color throwing event all participants will be advised to wear white, as is tradition for this holiday to allow a more vibrant appearance of dye. Prepare to get serenaded by an array of colorful dyes accompanied by awesome music, T-shirts and prizes.
