Informally Chat with the Provost

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2010) — University of Kentucky Provost Kumble Subbaswamy has scheduled an informal chat with faculty, staff and students from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, in 230 Student Center Addition.

The chat, organized and sponsored by the University Senate and the Staff Senate, is an opportunity for members of UK’s community to talk with the provost about a variety of issues in an informal setting.

The occasion marks the inaugural event in a new series of informal chats with administrators across campus.

“We hope that this chat with Provost Subbaswamy can bring the University of Kentucky community together and aid in strengthening our common goals with respect to our educational mission,” said Hollie Swanson, Senate Council chair and professor in the Department of Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology.

“The staff and university senates are working more closely this year by offering these informal chats with our administrators.  Our hope is that we will become a more cohesive university with one goal to serve and educate the people of the Commonwealth through our land grant mission of teaching, research and outreach,” said Jann Burks, Staff Senate chair.

Anyone interested in participating but who cannot attend can register to participate electronically via a webinar. Space is limited.
