"The reality of time constraints and life commitments deters many people from pursuing educational opportunities which could be very beneficial to their careers," said Harvie Wilkinson, director of the Executive Education Center and director of MBA programs at Gatton. "We believe this institute is structured in a way that is accessible and efficient for people who are already in the workforce."

Beginning with Series 1: Professional Business Management, the institute will offer an 11-session evening program meeting for three hours (5:30 to 8:30 p.m.) each week.  Parking is free for registered attendees.

Utilizing distinguished faculty and guest speakers from the college coupled with hands on experiential training, the program will give participants the strategic framework necessary for making informed business decisions.  Topics to be covered include Organizational Design & Environment, Accounting Measurement and Reporting, Lean Supply Chain Management, and many others.  Series 1 begins Aug. 29 and runs through Nov. 15.

Series 2: Executive Business Management & Leadership is being offered during the spring of 2013, from March 21 through May 30.  Over the course of the 11 weeks, subjects to be addressed feature Communicating with Emotional Intelligence, Managing Social Capital, Entrepreneurship, and more.

Wilkinson added, "This series is designed for individuals who want the general knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of today's business environment.  The training is absolutely top notch and will enable anyone who attends the opportunity to sharpen skill sets and become a world-ready person."

Participants who complete the program will receive 30 hours of continuing education credit (CEUs) for each series and a total of 60 hours of CEUs for completing both Series 1 and 2.  Upon completion of an individual series, participants will receive a UK Gatton College Executive Education Center certificate.

A discount is being offered to persons who sign up for both Series 1 and 2 at the same time.
