Media Advisory: UK BOT Calls Special Meetings

WHAT: will meet in special called meetings
WHEN:
- 6:45 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011
- 6:45 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011
WHERE: Montreal Conference Room in the Marriott Cincinnati Airport, 2395 Progress Drive, Hebron, Ky.
MORE: At each meeting the board will begin in open session and vote to go into closed session to meet with and discuss potential candidates for the University of Kentucky presidency.
**Sunday, May 1, depending on the outcome of discussions, a preferred candidate will be announced and made available to media for questions at the Marriott. UK Public Relations and Marketing personnel will be onsite to assist media.
If a media availability occurs, it will be lived streamed on UK's news website, UKNow, at www.uky.edu/uknow.
The media availability is anticipated to occur Sunday, however, due to the uncertainty of the length of board discussion, a precise time is not known at this point. We will endeavor to give media advanced notice of the announcement.
The preferred candidate is anticipated to be on UK's campus Monday, May 2, for forums with students, faculty and staff. The Board of Trustees will meet in regular session Tuesday, May 3, and may take a final vote on the candidate. Media advisories outlining events for these two days will follow today and later this week.
