No Classes, UK Offices Closed on Election Day, UK HealthCare Operations Open

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2012) ― Presidential Election Day is observed as a holiday at the University of Kentucky, therefore most offices on the main campus will be closed and classes will not be held Tuesday, Nov. 6.  Normal operation will resume Wednesday, Nov. 7.

All of UK HealthCare's clinical operations will be open and operating on a normal schedule Tuesday, Nov. 6, including Chandler and Good Samaritan hospitals, University Student Health Service, Kentucky Clinic on UK's campus, Kentucky Clinic South and Polk-Dalton Clinic.

Many UK Dining Services locations will alter their schedules somewhat Tuesday.  Following is a list of locations and the times they will be open Tuesday, Nov. 6.

  • Commons, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Ovid's and Starbucks at W.T. Young Library, 10 a.m. Tuesday-1 a.m. Wednesday
  • Blazer, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Quick Stop at Blazer, 4-11 p.m.
  • Quick Stop at Commons, 2-11 p.m.
  • Starbucks at Commons, 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
  • Starbucks at Kentucky Clinic, 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
