Nominations Needed for Women's Forum Board

Lexington, Ky. (April 16, 2013) — The University of Kentucky Women’s Forum announces that nominations for its board’s 2013-2015 term are being accepted now through Friday, April 26. Self-nominations are welcome from anyone interested in championing women’s issues at UK. Or reach out to someone else you think would make an excellent candidate to see if they would like to be nominated.

  

The Women’s Forum membership is open to all regular staff and faculty, men and women. A Women’s Forum Board on-line nominations form is available at https://uky.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_aW2FFlr8WD2S5Nj.

There are many reasons to join this prominent, active organization. Sarah Nikirk, the Women’s Forum chair, listed some of them for UKNow.

·         Being among outstanding women and men who dedicate themselves to making UK a better place to work

·         Enhancing leadership and teamwork skills

·         Participating in networking opportunities with a diverse group of individuals

·         Celebrating the uniqueness of all women at UK

·         Having the opportunity to be involved in the Sarah Bennett Holmes Award and Luncheon

·         Developing new contributions to the annual Women’s Forum Conference

·         Participating in the Employee Educational Assistance Awards program, which bestows scholarships for continuing education among UK employees

If you are not interested in becoming an elected board member, there are many other ways to become involved in this outstanding organization.
