Nominations for 'Pacesetter' Now Being Accepted

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 28, 2012) — Nominations are now being accepted for the 6th Annual Kentucky Business Pacesetter Program, an awards program recognizing high performing second-stage businesses that are producing innovative products, increasing sales, creating jobs and serving communities in the Commonwealth.

“Pacesetter” winners are selected based on the following categories:

  • Growth in number of employees
  • Increase in sales and/or unit volume
  • Innovativeness of the product or service
  • Response to adversity
  • Employee engagement and commitment
  • Contribution to aid community-oriented projects
  • Other criteria contributing to the business’ success

This exclusive award is presented to companies changing the economic landscape of Kentucky who meet the following minimum qualifications: in business for three or more years; employ six or more full-time equivalent employees, including the owner; annual sales meet or exceed $500,000; and demonstrate an intent and capacity to grow.

Pacesetter Award winners will be honored at the “Kentucky Celebrates Small Businesses” event in Frankfort in May 2013. In addition to the recognition ceremony, winners will attend a private luncheon at the Governor’s Mansion; receive an award inscribed with their company’s name and a promotional video highlighting their business and its success; and a profile of their company will be featured in a commemorative program.
