Open House Set for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Spring Course Registration

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 17, 2012) − Are you an adult age 50 or more and love to learn?  Would you like to meet people who have the same interests?  Come to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UK Open House and join a dynamic group of more than 900 learners who are discovering new interests every day.
 

Open House and registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Jan. 19,, at the Tates Creek Christian Church gymnasium at 3150 Tates Creek Road in Lexington.  At the event, persons will have the opportunity to meet the instructors and learn more about the 41 courses, five Special Interest Groups, and Donovan Forums being offered, meet OLLI advisory board members and sign up to get involved with any one of the numerous committees, learn about upcoming day trips, enjoy refreshments, and register for door prizes. 
 

Spring courses include:  Build Your Family History; Digital World:  Bits & Bytes to the Cloud; Pickleball;  Inside the Philharmonic;  Actors Theatre; a Saturday Seminar on Kentucky Stones; Kentucky Spirit: The Land and the People; Spanish; American Sign Language; Studio Arts; and a variety of fitness opportunities.    

Registration tables will be open during the event.  Membership through summer 2012 is $15.  Course fees vary; however, most are $10.  For more information and registration materials, please contact the OLLI Office at (859) 257-2656.  Registration is now open by mail and is on a first come basis.  Some courses may be filled by Open House, so register as soon as possible.
