Opportunities Remain to Participate in Circle of Love

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 21, 2014) – It’s the season of giving, and what better way to give than to sponsor a child through the Circle of Love Program.

Circle of Love is a great opportunity for UK students, faculty and staff to make hundreds of holiday wishes come true through buying gifts from a wish list made by children in need from Fayette county and other surrounding county elementary schools.

Currently there are about 35 children left without a sponsor for the holiday season. Sponsors are needed before Thanksgiving, because the deadline to turn in gifts is approaching quickly. Sponsors can pick up wish lists in the Center for Student Involvement until Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Sponsors are asked to purchase two to four gifts per child, with at least one being a clothing item. If possible, a grocery store gift card is encouraged for purchase, so that the families can enjoy a meal over the break. Gifts are to be unwrapped so the parents can see what their child is receiving, but including gift wrap and tape is greatly appreciated.

Gifts should be returned from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, or Tuesday, Dec. 2, to Room 251 Student Center .

Circle of Love program is organized by the Center from Community Outreach (CCO).
