Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UK to Hold Open House

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 7, 2012) − If you are an adult age 50 or over and love learning and expanding your knowledge simply for the joy of it, you are invited to learn about the events and programs at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UK (OLLI) Open House on Aug. 9.

Be one of more than 1,100 dynamic adult learners in Lexington who will share and discuss ideas and common interests together.

At the OLLI Open House, you can preview and choose from over 38 courses, special interest groups, forums, etc. to take part in this fall.

Fall courses will include: Language classes; Science Fiction Films of the 1950s; Napoleon and Wellington on the Road to Waterloo; Digital Photography; Prehistoric Moche Culture of Peru; Model Railroading; Acting and art classes; Special interest groups and more.

At the Open House, you can chat with instructors, hear about upcoming speakers for the Donovan Forums, attend a variety of art and music events, attend a Saturday seminar, and get involved with a number of Special Interest Groups.

The Open House will feature refreshments and door prizes. 

The Open House and registration for courses will be held on Thursday, Aug. 9, 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Tates Creek Christian Church gymnasium at 3150 Tates Creek Road in Lexington. 

Course registration tables will be open during the event.  Annual membership through summer 2013 is $25.  Most course fees are $15, but some fees may vary. Registration is now open and is on a first come basis.  Some courses may be filled prior to the Open House, so call as soon as possible for course information.
