A Penny Saved Is a Penny Spent (Holiday Shopping)

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 26, 2012) — Just in time to help everyone save every penny for the massive shopping excursions so common during the upcoming holiday season, University of Kentucky Dining Services now offers daily specials in its convenience stores.

The UK Quick Stop convenience stores at Blazer, Commons and the Student Center have begun offering daily specials and discounts on purchases.

On Mondays, buy one Powerade® and get a second one for half price (all locations).

On Tuesdays, get a 20-ounce drink and a candy bar for $2.50 (all locations).

On Wednesdays, customers in Blazer and Commons can buy one Ramen Noodle® or Cup-o-Soup® and get a second one for half the price. In the Student Center Quick Stop, a 20-ounce drink and a bag of either Frito Lay® or Grippo® chips for $2.50.

Thursdays, customers in Blazer or Commons get a 10 percent discount on their full order, if they buy any frozen food item. In the Student Center, $2.50 will get a customer a 20-ounce drink and a Pop Tart.®

On Fridays, in the Quick Stop convenience stores of Blazer and Commons, customers can buy any two-liter drink for $1.99 and orange juice for $2.99.  Other locations offer a 20-ounce drink, a candy bar and Frito-Lay® or Grippo® chips for $4.

Get 10 percent off your purchases all day Saturday and Sunday.

Big spenders will appreciate the all-day, every-day pricing. Anyone spending $10 gets an automatic 10 percent discount. Dining Services has also introduced a happy hour: Every day, customers get 10 percent off any purchase at any Quick Stop location between the hours of 7-10 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.

And don’t forget to become a Facebook Friend of UK Dining Services. At random times, you might see a message offering 20 percent off for “the next 20 minutes.”
