LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 27, 2013) — From the art studio to the stage, students in the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts are ringing in the holiday season with classic offerings to a new production of a beloved Christmas story. With Open Studio, "Collage" and "A Christmas Carol," there is something sure to fill the needs and warm hearts around the Bluegrass Dec. 5-8 on the UK campus.
UK Theatre Stages Holiday Classic ‘A Christmas Carol’
UK Department of Theatre heaps up a hearty helping of nostalgia with a sprinkling of the supernatural from Charles Dickens. Contemptible miser Ebenezer Scrooge is fulfilled by his wealthy, yet lonely existence, until he receives a message on Christmas Eve from the ghost of his deceased partner, Jacob Marley.
Scrooge will face his past, present and future with three spirits. Will the apparitions and their prophecies transform Scrooge? Will he find that there is still compassion and love in his heart? On Christmas morning, humbug meets its maker.
UK Theatre will stage "A Christmas Carol" 7:30 p.m., Dec. 5-7, and 2 p.m., Dec. 7-8, at the Guignol Theatre, in the Fine Arts Building. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for general admission. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Singletary Center Ticket Office, by calling 859-257-4929, by visiting www.scfatickets.com, or in person. Tickets can also be purchased in person at Guignol Theatre before the production.

To finish off your celebrations, don't miss the UK Choirs' most popular concert of the year, "Collage." A local holiday tradition, the concerts feature some of the season's most treasured carols from around the world.
