Serving the Best of Kentucky Traditions

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 3, 2013) — UK Dining Services has planned an exciting evening to honor Thoroughbred racing in Kentucky, featuring Kentucky Proud products.

There will be drawings all evening to win admission to Keeneland Racecourse, the Kentucky Horse Park and the Kentucky Derby Museum, but the tantalizing menu is not to be ignored. This special dinner will be served 5-9 p.m. Thursday, April 4, only at Blazer Hall.

“Kentucky Traditions” entrees include prime rib, honey baked ham, hot brown, spicy BBQ shrimp, BBQ short ribs, burgoo and chili. Salads include ambrosia, Benedictine and cranberry-chicken. Sides include asparagus, corn pudding, BBQ green beans, macaroni & cheese, garlic red-skin mashed potatoes, grits with garlic and cheese, and baked beans. But dessert is the real winner of the day with Derby pie, winner’s circle cake, bread pudding with bourbon crème Anglaise, and mint julep cupcakes.

Dinner is $9 per person, $8 for UK staff and faculty with ID, and $5 for children 5 and younger. If you go, you can pay with Dining Plus, Flex, Plus Account, cash and credit card.
