Spring Break Parking and Transit Changes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 17, 2014) ― During Spring Break at the University of Kentucky, demand for student parking and transportation is greatly reduced. As a result, Parking and Transportation Services does not control many of the student areas for permits during this period and reduces bus service.

In general, both single use commuter lots (C6 and C8) and all residential lots ― with the exception of R17 (Wildcat Coal Lodge) ― are not controlled for permits beginning Saturday, March 15. All employee lots will remain on control, including the joint use Employee/Commuter lots. The lots not controlled for permits will still be monitored for other parking violations to include, but not limited to, parking in fire lanes, on yellow lines, and in disabled accessible parking. All lots will resume normal control Monday, March 24.

The Medical Center and the Kentucky Clinic Routes will continue to run their normal schedule, and one CATS bus will operate on the Summer/Break Route. Summer/Break Route service will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., to accommodate those who remain on campus during break. All other CATS and Lextran campus bus service will cease during Spring Break.

The On-Demand Night Service will run on Sunday, March 23, with service beginning at 7 p.m. All other campus bus service will return to normal operations on Monday, March 24.
