LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 11, 2011) -- Street parking will be prohibited on some streets to the east and west of the UK campus on Monday, March 14, between 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lexington & Fayette County Parking Authority announced today that these streets will be closed to parking for curb-to-curb street cleaning. Cars parked in these restricted areas will be towed at the owner’s expense, according to Gary Means, executive director of the city Parking Authority.

Streets in Area #1, between Waller and Virginia, to be closed are: Transcript, Conn Terrace, Journal, State, University, Crescent and portions of Elizabeth.

Streets in Area #2, between Sunset and Cooper, to be closed are: Melrose, Beaumont, Tremont, Mt. Vernon and Kastle.

UK will make the K and C6 lots, adjacent to Commonwealth Stadium, available to neighborhood residents, UK employees and students during the street sweeping. Residents will not need a permit to park in these lots on March 14 and March 15.  Visit http://www.uky.edu/Parking/pdf/ukpts-parking-map-permit-large.pdf for more information.
