LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 11, 2012) — University of Kentucky art studio senior Aaron Michael Skolnick will present his BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) solo exhibition "Architecture of Self" examining reality. The show, which is free and open to the public, is on display through Dec. 14, in the Tuska Center for Contemporary Art, located in the UK Fine Arts Building. The exhibition will end with a closing reception from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
Skolnick currently resides in Lexington. Through meticulous graphite and ink renderings of iconic images and uncanny self-portraits the artist explores the real or “thingness” of the reality around him.
Prior to this show, Skolnick had three solo exhibitions at the Land of Tomorrow in Lexington, Louisville and St. Louis, Mo., and he has also taken part in several regional group shows. Skolnick is curating and participating in his first exhibition in New York City next June at the Rare Gallery.
"Architecture of Self" is presented by the UK School of Art and Visual Studies in the UK College of Fine Arts.
