Summer/Break Route to Change May 14

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 11, 2012) — Due to intermittent high traffic volume on campus, Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) announces a change in the schedule of the Summer/Break Route. Beginning Monday, May 14, only the Gillis Building and Commonwealth Village stops will serve as time point stops, which means that they have set times for bus arrival.

All other stops will remain on the route, but will be interval stops. The bus will arrive at these stops between the listed time point stops, instead of at a set time. Interval stops allow the bus to maintain its schedule during varying traffic.

The Summer/Break Route will continue to operate from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with two buses running at 15 minute intervals.

Riders can view the actual location of all CATS buses on all routes by using Cat Tracker, a real-time GPS-based bus locating system. Visit http://uky.transloc.com. You can also track the buses via the free Transloc iPhone, Android and BlackBerry apps, by using your smart phone to scan the QR codes found on each bus stop sign or by using the SMS codes found at each bus stop.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, 7 days a week.
