Twitter Chat Aims to Help Graduates Find a Job

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 18, 2013) — For our graduating seniors, December Commencement is right around the corner and May ceremonies are not far behind. To help students prepare for the "real world," the University of Kentucky will present an #AskACat Twitter Chat on job searches Nov. 19 for our graduates as they begin their search for a career after undergrad. Though this Twitter chat targets seniors, all individuals looking for a job or internship are encouraged to participate in this conversation and send questions on the topic to this live Twitter chat.

Theresa Mickelwait, senior assistant director and liaison to the College of Nursing and the College of Health Sciences for the James W. Stuckert Career Center, will answer questions on job searching beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, via the university's official Twitter account, @universityofky. Those interested in following and/or participating in the chat can follow the university's account or #AskACat for questions posed and responses from the Twitter chat.

Individuals interested in asking questions on job searches should send their questions to www.twitter.com/universityofky through 3 p.m. on Nov. 19 or on the UK Facebook page prior to 2 p.m., Nov. 19. Responses to questions will be shared with the university's followers and those following the hashtag #AskACat.

The Stuckert Career Center, part of the UK Division of Undergraduate Education, strives to provide students with enriching and educational programs to enhance their working experience and employment opportunities. The center helps students explore their career options, engage in experiential learning and connect with employers.
