UK #AskACat Twitter Chat on Biking

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 15, 2013) — Tomorrow's #AskACat Twitter Chat will give University of Kentucky students, faculty, staff and followers the opportunity to ask questions about using bicycles as a primary mode of transportation. The chat will be part of UK Bike Week, which is being held April 14-19 in conjunction with Earthdays in the Bluegrass.

This month's #AskACat experts are Chrissie Balding Tune, marketing/promotions specialist senior of UK Parking and Transportation Services; Shane Tedder, UK sustainability coordinator; and Sara Ailshire, student Wildcat Wheels employee. Tedder and Tune serve as facilities chair and education chair respectively of the university's Bicycle Advisory Committee. The trio will answer questions beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, via the university's official Twitter account, @universityofky. Those interested in following and/or participating in the chat can follow the university's account or #AskACat for questions posed and responses from the Twitter chat.

Individuals interested in asking questions on biking should send their questions to www.twitter.com/universityofky through 3 p.m. April 16 or on the UK Facebook page prior to 2 p.m., April 16. Responses to questions will be shared with the university's followers and those following the hashtag #AskACat.

Just last week UK was recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Bicycle Friendly University. UK achieved a Bronze level designation and was one of only nine new universities to be named in the fall 2012 award class. Currently, UK is the only university in the Commonwealth to earn this distinction.

UK will present its next #AskACat Twitter Chat on May 21.
