UK Community Invited to Hear Andy Barr Speak on Leadership

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 6, 2015) — The University of Kentucky's Nu Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa honor society invites the UK community to hear U.S. Rep. Andy Barr speak at their Transformational Leadership Seminar from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in Worsham Theater at UK Student Center.

Barr's speech, titled "The Path to Success," will discuss his drive to succeed, and leadership skills he has learned and utilized throughout his career, as well as obstacles he has overcome. Following his speech, there will be a Q&A and photo session with Barr, as well as a reception with refreshments.

"Due to the nature of public speech and leadership, this event will be very beneficial for students of the College of Communication and Information, Gatton College of Business and Economics, Department of Political Science, ROTC programs, College of Law, and the Department of Educational Leadership Studies," said UK Nu Circle Omicron Delta Kappa President Christina Walker.

Barr took the oath of office as representative for Kentucky's Sixth Congressional District on Jan. 3, 2013. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1996, and earned his law degree from UK in 2001.
