UK Confucius Institute Presents Chinese Medicine Week
Lexington, Ky. (Nov. 29, 2012) — Esteemed Chinese medicine expert and World Health Organization contributor Li Zhao Guo will present lectures on traditional Chinese medicine or Eastern health practices to the UK and Lexington community this week, as a part of the UK Confucius Institute’s Chinese Medicine Week.
For the past 28 years, Li has been engaged in the study and translation of traditional Chinese medicine. Since 2009, he has worked as a specialist in the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Traditional Medicine Department and for the International Standardization of Traditional Chinese Medicine Terminologies. Li has also devoted much of his time to the study of traditional Chinese culture, including Yijing Laozi, Zhuangzi and Analects.
Li’s presentation on Thursday, Nov. 29, is titled "Traditional Chinese Ways of Health Cultivation," will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the William T. Young Library Alumni Gallery, on the University of Kentucky campus. A reception will follow the talk.
Li will present two lectures Friday, Nov. 3, and an additional lecture on Saturday, Nov. 4, at various locations in the Lexington community.

Thursday, Nov. 29: "Traditional Chinese Ways of Health Cultivation," at 4:30 p.m. in the Alumni Gallery at William T. Young Library.
Friday, Nov. 30: "The Spirit of Traditional Chinese Medicine," as a part of the Grand Rounds Series, at noon at the UK College of Pharmacy building, Room BPC234.
Friday, Nov. 30: "The Spirit of Traditional Chinese Medicine," at 3 p.m. in the Mitchell Fine Arts Center at Transylvania University.
Saturday, Dec. 1: "Traditional Chinese Ways of Health Cultivation," hosted by the Kentucky Chinese-American Association, at 2 p.m. at Beaumont Middle School.
