UK Horticulture Club Offers Valentine's Day Gift Options

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 11, 2014) ― Looking for a Valentine's Day gift for that special someone?  The UK Horticulture Club has some live plant options.  The club's annual Valentine's Sale is from 11a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Feb. 12-14, in the Agricultural Science Center North lobby.

"We have a wide range of tropical flowering and house plants, mixed baskets with candy, teacup succulents, heart-shaped Hoyas, and more," said Sarah Holton, UK Horticulture Club president. "All are reasonably priced and lovingly grown by our student members."

The Horticulture Club members use these sales as an opportunity to gain experience in propagation and greenhouse production as well as marketing. All proceeds of club sales go toward experiential learning opportunities, like tours of regional public gardens, research centers, and agriculture production venues, as well as their spring trip to Costa Rica.
