UK Institute for Workplace Innovation Names Lisa Gilbert Williams Executive Director
LEXINGTON, Ky (July 17, 2013) — Lisa Gilbert Williams has been promoted to executive director at UK’s Institute for Workplace Innovation (iwin), which serves as Kentucky’s premier learning community for employers throughout the state and is currently partnering with 40 businesses that each have a mission to make Kentucky a state-of-choice for employers and employees.
Williams joined iwin in 2009 as manager of operations and was promoted to assistant director of management and operations before assuming the role of acting co-executive director in 2012. Williams holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Social Science Administration (MSSA) from Case Western Reserve University. This degree, similar to an MBA specializing in nonprofit organizations, has provided Williams with the framework to incorporate streamlined approaches to organizational effectiveness and sustainability. Prior to joining iwin, she spent 15 years in nonprofit settings helping organizations with program coordination, organizational development, and nonprofit leadership and management.
“Lisa has been vital to iwin as acting co-director, and her extensive background makes her the clear choice for its executive director,” said Donna King Perry, partner at Dinsmore & Shohl, LLC. “She has transitioned into the role seamlessly, and we’re excited to be part of iwin’s Innovative Employer Roundtable at this time.”
UK's Institute for Workplace Innovation’s mission is to develop and disseminate knowledge about the 21st century workplace to create work environments that boost the bottom line, employee health, and work-life effectiveness. Visit www.iwin.uky.edu for more information.
