UK International Representative Elected President of Education Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 6, 2012) Education Kentucky, a consortium of colleges, universities and community colleges that promotes Kentucky as a study destination for international students, recently elected the University of Kentucky's Audra Cryder as its president.

Previously vice president of Education Kentucky, Cryder serves as the enrollment manager in the UK Office of International Affairs. In this role Cryder actively recruits international students by attending education fairs around the globe, developing online marketing strategies, working with government sponsored programs and personally meeting with potential students and their families in countries such as India, China, and Oman. Through her work Cryder has significantly increased UK’s international enrollment, and global presence.

She said that her previous experience with the organization as well as her role at UK will help her immensely as she takes on the post of president.

"UK has played a significant role in the consortium, from being one of the founding members to sharing best practices in international student development," Cryder said. "We hope to continue contributing to the success of the consortium in the upcoming years."

Education Kentucky's goals include sharing with prospective international students an idea what life in Kentucky is like and making students aware of the academic, scholarship and career opportunities available to them.

Cryder also hopes to increase the consortium's international visibility by actively advertising though social media channels.

"This will be key for achieving our goal of promoting Kentucky as a great study destination to students worldwide," Cryder said.
