UK to Launch Energy Conservation Program With Cenergistic
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 14, 2016) — To reduce energy costs and conserve natural resources, the University of Kentucky is launching an energy conservation program through a partnership with Cenergistic, a leading energy conservation company.
"The program will improve energy efficiency on campus, allowing us to maximize our resources and find savings that can be aligned with the institution’s strategic initiatives," said UK Vice President for Facilities Management Mary Vosevich.
Cenergistic's energy management program has collectively saved more than $4 billion for their partners. The program does not require purchasing new energy equipment or upgrading existing equipment. Instead, Cenergistic engineers will work on-site with operations staff to pinpoint opportunities, and energy specialists will monitor energy usage in campus facilities. The goal of the program is to provide a comfortable environment while realizing energy efficiencies and reducing expenses for years to come.
Cenergistic received the United States Environmental Protection Agency Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 and was named ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for 2009 and 2010. For 30 years, Cenergistic has helped educational organizations nationwide reduce energy consumption.
