Veterans Drive Tunnel to be Closed Temporarily

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 23, 2011) — The tunnel that is located on Veterans Drive and underneath Cooper Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 and Friday, Feb. 25, due to construction work to improve lighting.

The entrances and exits to Parking Structure No. 1 on Veterans Drive will remain open during the construction.

Motorists who normally use the portion of Veterans Drive that includes the tunnel should choose an alternate route and allow extra time for their commute.

During the project, all parking located between the tunnel and Farm Road must be accessed from Farm Road.

As always, construction work is weather-dependent and the timetable is subject to change.
