Water Restored to Donovan and Haggin, but Not Drinkable; K-Lair Closed for Cleanup

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 10, 2013) — A water main break that occurred at the New Central construction site at Hilltop Drive this morning was repaired and water restored to buildings in the area by 1:30 p.m. today.  Buildings include Haggin and Donovan residence halls, K-Lair restaurant and the Food Storage Center, and the Kelley Building.  However, Kentucky American Water Company issued a Water Boil Advisory — in effect for 24 hours.

Bathrooms are operable in the buildings and bottled water is available at the main desks of the residence halls.

K-Lair will be closed through next Friday, Jan. 18, due to the necessary cleanup involved after minor flooding occured due to the water main break.
