LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 27, 2013) — In a commitment to keep the University of Kentucky community informed and engaged in the process of transitioning to a new financial model, UK Provost Christine Riordan and Executive Vice President for Financial Affairs Eric Monday issued the latest newsletter with updates on the financial model.
The e-newsletter was distributed Wednesday, Nov. 27. Following is the full message:
Thanks so much for the feedback. It’s been incredibly rewarding.
In the past week, as we have continued the process of dialogue and engagement across the campus, we have received dozens of questions about the partnership involved in our transition to a values-based financial model. That feedback underscores the interest on this campus, not only in the development of a new financial model, but also in the future of our university and our continued impact on the Commonwealth.
The input is also valuable in another important way.
Throughout this process, feedback has been used time and again to make modifications or tweaks in the substance of our financial model. That will continue to be the case as we go forward. Our goal – and our commitment – is to develop a financial model that reflects, and enhances, our shared values as the state’s indispensable institution.
We are in the process of answering the most recent questions we’ve received over the last several days and compiling all of them into one document. We will update those questions and answers and post them on the financial model website – http://www.uky.edu/Provost/FinancialModel/ -- early next week. As soon as that is complete, we will inform you in the next edition of our newsletter and publish all of them in full.
That process is part of another important commitment to you – consistent, constant and transparent communication about the development of the financial model.
The questions and answers will always be accessible on the financial model website as we will continually be updating it with your important feedback to this process.
Once again, thanks for your interest and commitment to this process and to UK.
Have a happy and safe holiday!
