WUKY's Phoenix Fridays Concerts Coming Back to Lexington This Summer

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 20, 2015) — WUKY's Phoenix Fridays are back for summer 2015. The series of free, outdoor concerts created by WUKY and produced by The Downtown Lexington Corporation, is scheduled for 5-9:30 p.m. the third Friday of each month in May through August in Phoenix Park at the corner of Main and Limestone in downtown Lexington.

After a successful concert series last year, WUKY's Phoenix Fridays 2015 will offer more outstanding live music from local and national bands this summer — May 15, June 19, July 17 and Aug. 21.  Each night begins with well-known area bands followed by two acts from around the country.

“The 2014 Phoenix Fridays series was proof that Lexingtonians not only love great live music, they also want to come together in the heart of their city at Phoenix Park," said Mike Graves, music director at WUKY. "This year will be even more inviting with more fantastic bands, great food and refreshments and the best of what Lexington has to offer… its people.”

This year’s local bands include The Other Brothers, May 15; Twin Limb, from Louisville, June 19; The Wags, July 17; and Coralee and the Townies, August 21.
