LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 8. 2021) — To enhance technologies for student service professionals and faculty at the University of Kentucky, the Information Technology Service's (ITS) Enterprise Applications team and Student Success have partnered to launch Advising Hub 2.0. After extensive design, beta testing, and customer feedback, 2.0 officially replaced the previous version of Advising Hub that was decommissioned Feb.1.

Much thought and care went into creating the best possible customer-centric, productivity-enhancing experience. Advising Hub 2.0 offers many enhancements in comparison to the old tool, enabling UK advising, faculty, and student support staff to continue to provide high quality advising to students.

“Advising Hub 2.0 is a huge improvement from what we used previously,” said Camille Harmon, curriculum and program coordinator in the College of Arts and Sciences. “The home page provides great detail with student demographics and a summary of the students’ academic records. Previously, we would have to sift through three tabs in advising hub just to get the information provided on the home page. Additional enhancements in 2.0 allow users to search the hub notes with key words, tag notes, and include a note type. Advising Hub 2.0 delivers an engaging user-friendly application that is a much-needed upgrade from the old hub.”

New features of Advising Hub 2.0 include ease of use and performance improvements, unified appointment scheduling with Zoom and Outlook integrations, a robust note taking system, updated real-time advisor dashboard, and seamless integrations with existing advising tools such as myUKGPS, Tableau, and more.

ITS would appreciate any feedback on Advising Hub 2.0 to be sent to ITSaboutYou@uky.edu. As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
