LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 9, 2017) — The University of Kentucky Woman's Club Scholarship Fun Run to raise funds for UK student scholarships will take place Saturday, Oct. 14, in Wellington Park near Clays Mill Road in Lexington. It is intended to be a fun activity for adults and children of all ages, while helping UK students.
The untimed 3K run/walk begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Scratch, the UK Athletics mascot, entertaining UK fans for an hour beforehand. Online registration is open until midnight, Friday, Oct. 13, at this website: www.ukwc.org, which will take you to an easy-to-follow registration page. On-site registration will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Registration for adults is $25 while children under 12 are free.
The route of less than two miles will be on a paved trail among trees and meadows through Wellington Park. The route will accommodate children well, and while supplies last, there will be a goodie bag for kids who finish the route with a registered adult.
The UKWC Scholarship Fun Run is organized by the UK Woman's Club, which has raised more than $650,000 in scholarships and aid for nontraditional UK undergraduate and graduate students.
