New Exhibits Part of UK Arts in Healthcare Program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2013) -- The UK Arts in Healthcare program announces a gallery opening Sunday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. to celebrate new exhibits by local and nationally-acclaimed artists. The East Gallery will feature "Full Moon Swoon," a series of black and white paintings by Chicago artist Austin Eddy.

The West Gallery, closest to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital Emergency Department, will display various works from a local group called Latitude, which features the work of artists with disabilities. Some of the Latitude community artists as well as Eddy will be in attendance.

The reception follows with the taping (3 to 6 p.m.) of Tim Farmer's "Homemade Jam" series in the Pavilion A auditorium, to be broadcast by KET. The concert is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the UK HealthCare parking garage.

The Arts in Healthcare Program at UK has been recognized for excellence by the Governor's Award in the Arts (2012) and the Medistar Consumer First Award (2013).

All Arts in Healthcare exhibits are privately funded, and are curated with the objective of creating a welcoming and soothing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
