LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 16, 2024) The University of Kentucky Choirs’ 27th annual “Collage: A Holiday Spectacular,” a cherished Central Kentucky holiday tradition, will reach an even broader audience this year thanks to a special broadcast on FOX 56. The 90-minute program, which will feature selections from the 2024 presentation of “Collage,” will air twice on Dec. 25, 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m.

Following its highly anticipated and sold-out live performances in early December at Singletary Center for the Arts, the television broadcast marks a new chapter in the event’s storied history. “Collage” has grown to become the centerpiece of the holiday season for many, with vibrant performances by UK Choirs, UK School of Music ensembles, Lexington Singers Children’s Choir and other community groups.

This year’s production features hundreds of performers, including the UK Chorale, UK Treble Choir, UK Men’s Chorus, a cappella groups and special guest artists from the Lexington arts community. FOX 56’s partnership ensures the joyous spirit of “Collage” can reach even more households, offering an opportunity for families across the region to join in this dynamic celebration of music and holiday cheer.

‘Collage’ is a labor of love for our community, and it’s thrilling to see it connect with a larger audience through FOX 56,” said Jefferson Johnson, D.M.A., director of UK Choral Activities.

“Christmas is a time for families, friends and traditions,” said FOX 56 Vice President and General Manager Monte Costes. “There’s no better way to celebrate the day than with the gift of music. We’re thankful to share this local tradition with our viewers.”

Don’t miss this festive holiday tradition from the comfort of home on Christmas Day. For more information about UK Choirs and the “Collage” experience, visit finearts.uky.edu/music

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
