Beloved holiday tradition is back: ‘NUTCRACKER!’ returns to Singletary stage
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2024) — The magic and excitement of the holiday season come alive as “NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet” returns to the Singletary Center for the Arts 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. This timeless production, beloved by audiences worldwide, blends the classic story of “The Nutcracker” with awe-inspiring choreography, stunning costumes and breathtaking artistry, creating an evening of enchantment for audiences of all ages.
Featuring an internationally acclaimed cast of stars and dancers from across the globe — including Ukraine, Japan, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland and Germany — “NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet” is a dazzling celebration of cultural and artistic excellence. Audiences will be transported to a world of festive delight through a magical dreamscape filled with dancing snowflakes, waltzing flowers and vibrant cultural variations, all set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score.
Since its Western debut in the 1940s, “The Nutcracker” has become a cherished holiday tradition for families and ballet enthusiasts alike. This production goes beyond the traditional, incorporating historic international theatrical traditions, stunning acrobatics, 10-foot-tall puppets, nine intricately hand-painted backdrops and hundreds of exquisite costumes.
